TV This Week: April 7, 2013 - Mad Men premiere, Frontline examines Syria, Touch done?

Mad Men starts a new season tonight! Will you watch the Madison Avenue ad men now that the zombies are done until October? Frontline, PBS' documentary show, looks at the situation in Syria this week. No Touch this week, was last week's show the finale?

These are the TV shows I plan on watching this week. Most of them I will watch by DVR or OnDemand. All times ET.

 

Sunday

60 Minutes. CBS, 7:00pm.
Scheduled: the parents of victims of the Newtown massacre talk about their lifetime quest to change gun laws and prevent the violence that took their children from them; a look at basketball star Jeremy Lin and his rise to the NBA.

Mad Men, Welcome to the Tombs. AMC, 9:00pm.
* * * New Season * * * Don attempts to further the growth of the agency by spearheading a new campaign that shows a lot of promise; Roger is left in a state of shock after getting some unsettling news; Betty decides to open up her home to a guest. 2 hrs.

Vikings, Burial of the Dead. History, 10:00pm.
After the discovery of Rollo's violent torture because of orders given by Haraldson, a weak and injured Ragnar goes to the Earl for a confrontation, but only one of the two men will walk away from the monumental fight alive.

 

Monday

The Following, The Curse. Fox, 9:00pm.
Ryan and the FBI discover a follower who could possibly lead them to Carroll's location; the run-in with Carroll's cult may have had a larger impact on Weston expected as he returns to the investigation; Claire and Emma come face to face.

Revolution, The Song Remains the Same. NBC, 10:00pm.
As Neville begins finding himself in an increasingly difficult situation when Monroe begins questioning his loyalties, Rachel puts strain on her mending relationship with Charlie after she decides to venture out on a mission to restore power.

Bates Motel, Trust Me. A&E, 10:00pm.
Even though they've been living in the town for a few weeks, Norma doesn't feel like they've adjusted yet and a small turn of events causes her to raise her suspicions about the townspeople, but her attention is continually being diverted.

 

Tuesday

Body of Proof, Doubting Tommy. ABC, 10:00pm.
When Megan stumbles across a blood soaked Tommy at the crime scene of a young girl, with no memory of the previous night's events, she must curb her own feels of doubt and help prove his innocence as the evidence continues to mount against him.

Frontline, Syria Behind the Lines. PBS, 10:00pm.
The devastating and deadly religious feud in Syria is explored from both sides of the war, revealing the daily struggles of the rebels, government soldiers and civilians as people who once lived together peacefully now fight each other.

 

Wednesday

Survivor: Caramoan - Fans vs. Favorites, Cut Off the Head of the Snake. CBS, 8:00pm.
One castaway unwittingly learns a secret that could turn the tables on certain alliances; chaos ensues when the group cannot decide before Tribal Council whether to oust a weak and unsuspecting opponent or blindside a threatening one.

Modern Family, Flip Flop. ABC, 9:00pm.
Phil believes that he can sell Claire and Cam's flipped house, but recruits the entire family into taking desperate measures when it proves to be harder than thought; Javier annoys Gloria when he brings his new girlfriend to visit Manny.

NOVA, Australia's First 4 Billion Years: Awakening. PBS, 9:00pm.
Experts explore the red hills of Australia in hopes of uncovering the mysteries surrounding the birth of the planet and the evolution of life, with an in-depth look at an assortment of bacterial slime and other early forms of life.

The Americans, Only You. FX, 10:00pm.
Stan follows a clue that points him to one of Gregory's crew members, which brings him startling close to Elizabeth; Elizabeth and Philip find themselves having to once again deal with conflicts that threaten their professional and personal union.

The Doctor and Clara land on a submarine in 1983, but unfortunately, it is loaded with nuclear weapons, contains an alien creature on the loose and is spiraling into the depths of the ocean, putting all of human kind at risk.

Saturday Night Live. NBC, 11:30pm.
Host Vince Vaughn, musical guest Miguel.

 

Sunday

The Simpsons, What Animated Women Want. Fox, 8:00pm.
Homer must attempt to save his marriage when Marge becomes fed up with his behavior; after watching "A Streetcar Named Desire" Milhouse decides to take on a Marlon Brando-inspired bad boy attitude to try and attract Lisa.

Mad Men, The Collaborators. AMC, 10:00pm.
Don struggles to form a good relationship with a client who threatens to affect the campaign they are working on; Pete does what he can to make a good impression on a guest; Peggy is left to tend to an unmotivated staff.

Vikings, A King's Ransom. History, 10:00pm.
Searching for a ransom in exchange for peace, Ragnar Lothbrok sets sail with three Viking ships destined for eastern England's heart of power, the Royal Villa of King Aelle, but the king has his own plans for the marauders.
