TV This Week: Doctor Who Revisited, Touch returns

TV This Week icon

Doctor Who Revisited is up to the fourth Doctor (the one with the long scarf) and Tom Baker participates in this special to air next Sunday night. Touch returns Friday with a new episode, will the series end during May sweeps?

These are the TV shows I plan on watching this week. Most of them I will watch by DVR or OnDemand. All times ET.

 

Sunday

60 Minutes. CBS, 7:00pm.
Scheduled: the latest news in the Boston Marathon bombing investigation; Lara Logan reports on dogs trained to sniff out bombs who often go from battlefield to police departments; Lesley Stahl takes look inside the September 11th Memorial Museum.

Anthony Bourdain Parts Unknown, Los Angeles (Koreatown). CNN, 9:00pm.
Host Anthony Bourdain gets a unique look at Los Angeles by confining his visit to the three-square-mile area known as Koreatown, where the effects of the 1992 riots that followed the acquittal of police officers accused of brutality are still felt.

Mad Men, To Have and To Hold. AMC, 10:00pm.
The heads of the agency decide to make a strategic move to keep a new campaign under wraps from the rest of the staff and others in the industry; Joan gets a visit from an old friend but the reunion causes some tension for her and her new life.

Vikings, Sacrifice. History, 10:00pm.
Anguished over the death of their unborn son, mixed emotions follow Ragnar and Lagertha on the traditional pilgrimage to Uppsalla to thank their gods, and Athelstan's Christian faith is put to the test during the Vikings' sacrifice ritual.

 

Monday

The Following, The End Is Near. Fox, 9:00pm.
Ryan, Parker, and Weston prepare to storm the Followers' mansion, unaware that Carroll has an escape plan; followers in disguise create a diversion at an evacuation center that leads to panic and the kidnapping of one of the FBI officials.

Revolution, The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia. NBC, 10:00pm.
When Neville mysteriously vanishes and his son, Jason, is left to make a big decision, Monroe is stricken with paranoia while Miles strengthens his bond with Charlie and suddenly begins experiencing romantic attractions to both Rachel and Nora.

Bates Motel, The Truth. A&E, 10:00pm.
While Norman is confused over Dylan's sudden request for him to move in with him, Norma can no longer handle Norman's friend Emma's interference in her family life and tells her face to face that some things are better kept to themselves.

 

Tuesday

Body of Proof, Committed. ABC, 10:00pm.
When a mentally disturbed teenager is found murdered in a mental institution Megan and Tommy find a patient seemingly lucid and completely sane that says she witnessed the killer climbing down from a heating vent and meant to kill her.

Frontline, The Retirement Gamble. PBS, 10:00pm.
Leading correspondent Martin Smith investigates the financial services industry and the rise of the 401(k), revealing how fees, kickbacks and self-dealing are profiting Wall Street while putting consumers' savings in jeopardy.

 

Wednesday

Survivor: Caramoan - Fans vs. Favorites, Come Over to the Dark Side. CBS, 8:00pm.
After successfully ousting Phillip in last week's blindside, the 'Three Amigos' plan to take control yet again by concocting a lie to spread around camp, meanwhile the remaining castaways prepare for the infamous food auction.

The Americans, The Oath. FX, 10:00pm.
One of the agents under Elizabeth's supervision returns to her with some valuable intelligence for sale; Philip and Elizabeth risk their lives in a possible set-up; Stan continues to search for Directorate S and gets some interesting results.

Touch, Accused. Fox, 9:00pm.
When Martin tries to clear his name, he reveals his motivations to a skeptical detective; Jake leads Avram on a hunt for a possible member of the "Righteous 36"; Calvin's meeting with an Aster Corps executive accelerates his mission.

 

Saturday

Doctor Who, Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS. BBC America, 8:00pm.
After the TARDIS crashes, the Doctor discovers that Clara is lost inside of the time machine and spacecraft, and to make the rescue even more challenging, the Doctor only has half an hour remaining until his ship is set to explode.

 

Sunday

Doctor Who Revisited, The Fourth Doctor. BBC America, 8:00pm.
A detailed look is taken at the iconic television show Doctor Who, featuring The Fourth Doctor, who was played by Tom Baker, who used a recognizable, long scarf and an eccentric style of dress and speech to make the part his own.

The Simpsons, Pulpit Friction. Fox, 8:00pm.
When Homer is recruited to be a deacon at church by the new reverend in town, Bart asks Flanders to help track down Reverend Lovejoy as Homer begins to get too invested in the faith; Marge finds that the dry cleaners swapped her wedding dress.

Anthony Bourdain Parts Unknown, Columbia. CNN, 9:00pm.
Host Anthony Bourdain observes how Colombia has changed over the past 10 years as he travels from the central mountains to the Caribbean coast and visits inland sites that were formerly coca farms controlled by the drug cartels.

Mad Men, The Flood. AMC, 10:00pm.
In an attempt to attain a sense of security for herself, Peggy begins to plan for the future; Roger sees an opportunity to add another big account to the agency, which leads to him pulling out all the stops in order to impress the potential client.

Vikings, All Change. History, 10:00pm.
King Horik commissions Ragnar to assemble a crew to resolve a dispute over land in Gotaland with its leader, Jarl Borg, but their encounter may not have the intended outcome; the village asks Lagertha to plead with the gods to rid a plague.
